The plain and simple yet hard truth.

You may have heard that Sarah Palin is planing on running for President in 2012. When asked if this was true she said "it's crazy to close a door before you know what's even open in front of you."
I pray that before she begins her campaign her eyes will be opened and she will see the one door that is open and the room she needs to walk into before her family completely brakes apart. That door would be her quieting her job as governor and following what is says so plainly in Titus 2 verses 4-5 "that they might teach the younger woman to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed"

FIREPROOF- The movie

Last Night I was able to see FIREPROOF the movie with my sister and two friends. I have been looking forward to this movie for a long time and was really excited about seeing it. I checked online to see when it was playing and then we planed for a Thursday night. It was playing in both theaters in our town. We chose to watch it at the Valley River theater as the other one is kinda knew for drive by shootings. I checked again that morning to see that is was still there. It was. So at 6:00 we picked up our friends and drove to the theater. When we got there we were surprised to see it not on the listings. We asked the man who was selling tickets what that was about and he answered saying that the movie had been pulled out of the theaters for "two to three weeks". I really don't think that guy knew what he was talking about because I had seen it in the paper a week ago and my friends parents had gone to watch it there just two weeks ago. Whatever. We then quickly drove to the next theater. As we found our seats I noticed that we were the only people under 50 in there and there was about 30 other couples. By the time we sat down we had missed the first part of the movie. But fortunately the rest of it was still completely understandable. The rest of the movie was uneventful expect for the grumpy couple in front of us complaining by telling us that our "drinks were finished" When we were getting the last bit. That may be a little understandable even though no one else minded. But later on in the movie I started to cry (hey who doesn't cry at that movie!) The guy looked back at me and gave me a look. Sorry for having feelings! I wasn't even being that loud. I wasn't sobbing just sniffing a little! I really think there should be grumpy people theaters just like there should be separate neighborhoods for grumpy neighbors. But anyways, back to the movie...

I am not going to go and tell you the whole plot because I am sure you have either seen the movie yourself or read about on fifty other blogs. But I will say what I thought about it.
First off don't let the "from the makers of facing the giants" thing throw you off. The acting was professional and the filming was just as good as other movies you see in the theater. In the beginning there was on lady who I thought who was a little over done. But then again there are people who really act like that and she only had two lines so you if you really had to you could close you eyes for that one minute. Which brings me to another point. It was so nice to go to a movie that you didn't in any part feel weird for watching. There was no "needs fast forwarding" scenes. This movie was rated PG and I would have doubts about having my younger siblings watch it. But that doesn't make it a bad movie. In fact I would say that this is my favorite movie ever. OK, I do admit that my "favorite movie ever" changes every two months or when ever I see a good new movie. But still, I would not have said that about facing the giants. Even if you are not as fickle as I am concerning movies and even if you don't cry though the whole movie I promise you, that you wont regret having watched it. There is one question that you cant help asking yourself after watching this movie. And that is "am I fireproof?". That is a question that needs to be asked much more often then it is. I cant wait to see this movie again. And this time watch the whole thing:) And next time I go I don't care if I have to bring a suitcase along I am taking my own snacks with me!

President Obama- So Sad.

I stayed up last night to watch the elections. At 7:30 Hanni had to got to bed. But not before I had promised to tell who become president as soon I as possible.
So at 9:00 when I passed by her door. She called out to me;

Hanni: "E, who is elected?"
Me: "Obama was."
Hanni: "Oh no! that is so sad!"
Hanni dear, You are so right. We should be sad that our country has fallen so very low that we rejoice to see a man who gives no thought to killing innocent babies become our next president. But he is the elected President and there is nothing we can do besides pray. But don't give up hope. This also happens to be the biggest thing we could possibly do. God is the only one who has power to change this. We need to pray for him to have mercy on our country. And all the foolish people in it. But we should not give up. We have hope, we have peace knowing that Gods way is the best way and that he is showing us something and is doing this for our good.
Love you sweetie,
~Ellie

Holy Ambition.

*This post was originally posted on "Rebelutionaries"

In her latest post entitled Holy Ambition, Katie asked a profound and normally ignored question.

I decided it called for a sequel.

To answer Katie's first question. Yes, I do have an "holy ambition". For as long as I can remember I have wanted to marry, have a family of my own and to set an example of biblical femininity by striving to live the life of the Proverbs 31 woman. This may sound small to you, but I know that this is what God is calling me to do. Everything that he has given me in my life points to this. And it is not the point of your holy ambition to be something huge it is simply what God wants you to do with your life. In his video, John Piper asks if we are willing to sacrifice for our ambition. Yes I am willing. I will not be going to to college so I can better prepare to be a wife and mother. I am willing to take all the mocking and scoffing that comes with me telling people of my choice.

This obviously is, and should not be every one's holy ambition. God has a unique and different ambition planed out for everyone. Which brings me to another one of Katie's questions. Yes, I believe that God has an holy ambition for every Christan. An holy ambition is really just another way of saying what you want to do with your life. God knows all of his plans for you and how he needs you to live your life. Ask him and he will show you. "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7)
God will keep his promise. God also works in his own perfect time. He may not be ready to show you your holy ambition just yet. But rest assured that he has one for you. It is just not the time in his plan to have you know.
